Humour and Interfaith: What can Humour Bring to Interfaith Outreach?

This panel explored the connections between humour and interfaith and more specifically how, and indeed whether, humour can be used in interfaith practice.

Chaired by Dr Ed Kessler, the event brought together four panellists in conversation about the unexplored potential of humour, joking and laughter as interfaith tools to help improve interactions between different groups and foster social bonding along religious lines.

The webinar continues the Woolf Institute's interest in religion and humour, including its recent series Shtick! which focused on the relationship between faith and satire.

The panellists are:

Phil Champain, Director, Faith & Belief Forum

Andrew Graystone, Writer and broadcaster; Visiting Fellow (St John's College, Durham)

Lina Molokotos-Liederman, Affiliated Researcher, Woolf Institute

Imran Yusuf, Raconteur and stand-up comedian

This webinar was recorded on 29/04/2021.
