Bridging the Great Divide: the Jewish-Muslim Encounter

I am an Anglican priest curious about life, the world and the universe. I can live with tensions and contradictions. Yet the narratives in my denomination, the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, are extremely polarised right now, especially where it pertains to Jewish-Muslim relations and one of the most contested spaces throughout history, Israel-Palestine.

My church denomination passed a motion in solidarity with Palestine at our Provincial Synod in September 2019 to support BDS. Everyone suddenly became an expert on the Israel-Palestine conflict and Jewish-Muslim relations, vehemently defending their viewpoint and attacking the Other. I decided to undertake the Bridging the Great Divide: The Jewish-Muslim Encounter online course because of the conflict generated by this motion. I feel better equipped to facilitate genuine dialogues both within and without the church.
