Memorandum of Understanding with the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust

The Woolf Institute is delighted to announce that it has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust.

Since 2013, the Institute and Trust have collaborated in a scheme of scholarships to support outstanding postgraduate students at the University of Cambridge. PhD scholars are selected from amongst applicants in the Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Dr Ed Kessler, Founder Director of the Woolf Institute, said ‘I am delighted that the mutually beneficial partnership with the Cambridge Trust has been strengthened by the signing of this 5 year agreement. We look forward to increasing the numbers of Cambridge-Woolf postgraduate in the years ahead’.

Mrs Helen Pennant, Director of the Cambridge Commonwealth, European and International Trust, said ‘Since the inception of the Cambridge Trust’s collaboration with the Woolf Institute back in 2013 to fund two PhD scholarships per year, six  scholars from across the world have benefitted from support to carry out their degree courses here in Cambridge.  I am delighted that we today not only renew our collaboration, but extend it to provide two Masters scholarships each year to successful applicants in addition to the two PhD scholarships currently awarded.’
