Theological Education in the 21st Century: A Debate I
The first of three events in the series 'Theological Education in the 21st Century: A Debate' will take place on Thursday 22 February 2018 at 6.00pm.
The speakers for this event are:
- Rabbi Dr Deborah Kahn-Harris (Leo Baeck College)
- Dr Atif Imtiaz (Cambridge Muslim College)
- Revd Neil Thorogood (Westminster College)
They will discuss theological training in the Abrahamic traditions, with a special focus on how other religions are presented and taught.
The purpose of this series of debates, organised by Woolf Institute Cambridge Scholar Austin Tiffany, is to bring together various voices in the field of theological education and clerical training. Categories to be discussed will include Jewish, Christian and Muslim theological education, the adaptation of religious leaders to their surroundings and circumstances (that happens at a more rapid pace than at theological institutions), and debates about Mixed-mode or Residential-mode-style of clerical training.
