Findings from the project Religious Sisterhood: Encounters of Gender, Religion and Belonging Today have informed the development of materials for teachers searching for new, accessible materials to support classroom teaching (and an online course Gender and Religion Today).
These resources centre on a series of 8 short videos and accompanying worksheets (with suggested points for discussion), offering a fresh way to teach and consider religion through the lens of gender. They are intended for teachers to extend their subject knowledge and use in the classroom. Teachers and students alike have the opportunity to listen to individuals' lived experiences of gender and religion focusing on topics such as head covering and marriage.
Please note that we have included a wide range of religious denominations and you might want to make sure your audience is familiar with the different Christian, Jewish and Muslim streams.
With thanks to the generous support of Dangoor Education and the Randeree Charitable Trust.
