The Second Southern Englishes Workshop
The Second Southern Englishes Workshop was hosted by the Faculty of English, University of Cambridge, and the Woolf Institute.
The workshop included papers on historical and synchronic dialectology, historical and synchronic sociolinguistics, language contact, multilingualism, dialect in literature, and other areas relevant to English in the south.
The plenary speakers were Professor Paul Kerswill (University of York), Professor Peter Trudgill (University of Agder/Fribourg/La Trobe) and Professor Richard Coates (University of the West of England).
