Bishop Tim Stevens CBE
Tim Stevens retired as Bishop of Leicester after 16 years in 2015. He is now a non-executive director of the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. He chairs the Trustees of Common Purpose UK and was appointed Prelate of the Order of St John (an international humanitarian organisation) in 2016. He was appointed CBE in 2016.
While Bishop of Leicester he chaired the Children's Society and the Council of Westcott House in Cambridge. He was a member of the Archbishops' Council and was Convenor of the Bishops' Bench in the House of Lords (2009-2015).
He was a parish priest in East London and Essex before becoming Archdeacon of West Ham in 1991 and Bishop of Dunwich in 1995. Before ordination, he spent four years with BOAC as a graduate management trainee and two years as second secretary in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO).
