US/UK religious education programme concludes
24 March 2014
Between Thursday 19th - Saturday 22nd March the Woolf Institute, in collaboration with the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, held a programme examining approaches to religious education in the US and UK.
Held in the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, this programme offered an opportunity for US and UK teachers to participate in a series of visits, workshops and break-out groups, designed to help everyone enrich their experience of teaching and learning about and from world religions.
The programme culminated in a one-day conference, including contributions from Dr Philip Barnes (King’s College London) and Dr Liam Gearon (University of Oxford), addressing how religious education might move forward towards a model which takes difference and diversity seriously.
Videos will shortly be made available of conference and workshop sessions. In time these will also be supplemented with a toolkit drawing from both the preceding school observations, symposium and conference.
