The Woolf Institute is delighted to announce that it has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Middlesex University to work together in the provision of the Middlesex University Doctorate in Professional Studies for senior level practitioners in areas of mutual interest. They will develop a core team of Woolf Institute staff to act as advisers and consultants on the Middlesex University Doctorate in Professional Studies offered by its Institute for Work Based Learning.

The Doctorate in Professional Studies (DProf) is for advanced practitioners and is designed to focus on their professional development within their organisational/professional context.  The Institute for Work Based Learning’s DProf is open to all professional areas as the focus is defined by the candidate’s particular work context and their own area of interest. This may be located within a profession or sector, or may be more individual in nature.

Students will be selected from amongst the applicants whose research is relevant to the focus of the Woolf Institute – the multi-disciplinary study of relations between Jews, Christians and Muslims. Students enrolled in the Middlesex Doctorate Programme in Professional Studies will be Middlesex University students and, therefore, received their degree from said university. Applicants are required to apply to Middlesex University in the normal way.

Middlesex University’s Institute for Work Based Learning provides research and strategic development of work based learning across Middlesex University. In addition, the Institute partners directly with individual learners and organisations to create bespoke programmes from certificate through to doctorate level. Learning is focused on workplace activities and is aimed to extend workplace skills and abilities of employees.
