Woolf Institute students receives Gates Cambridge Scholarship
25 April 2016
We are delighted to announce that Mohammad Shomali, a Woolf Institute bursary recipient who is in the process of completing the MPhil in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (Specialisation: Muslim-Jewish Relations), has been selected for the prestigious Gates Cambridge Scholarship to support his PhD research in the Faculty of Asian & Middle Eastern Studies.
Mohammad’s PhD project will explore ways in which the rights of non-Muslims, and in particular the rights of Jews, are considered and recognized by Shia jurists. He aims to make a direct impact on policy by understanding the human rights that are inherent in Islam and connecting them to the present context.
