Remembrance Commemoration

Sunday 12th November

Kol Echad & Inter Alios Choirs

Venue: Churchill College Chapel

kol echad

On Sunday 12th November, Churchill College and the Woolf Institute are organising a Remembrance Commemoration with Jewish and Christian choirs.

  • Kol Echad

For nearly twenty years, Kol Echad has been Cambridge's leading (only!) Jewish choir. The choir regularly participates in Cambridge's civic commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day, and a range of other community and charity events. Kol Echad is passionate about sharing Jewish music with the widest possible audience. It has shared concerts with local group, In Voco Parentis, and sung in interfaith services at the Chapel at Churchill College, Cambridge. Danielle Padley became Kol Echad's Musical Director in 2011.

  • Inter Alios

'Inter Alios' is a joint venture between Churchill College where it serves the Christian Chapel at Churchill College, and Murray Edwards College where it serves the 'Humanist Happenings' Series: a format which is broadly similar to chapel services, but with no theological content. The title 'Inter Alios' literally translates as 'among others' and speaks to the collective spirit. Firstly, it is inter-'faith' serving both Christian and Humanist communities, as well as inter-faith events such as Abrahamic services at Churchill in association with the Woolf Institute. The choir is also inter-collegiate, international in its make-up and musical repertoire, and inter-arts.

All are very welcome to attend. For further information please contact: enquiries@woolf.cam.ac.uk
